Where is the group located?
- Vertigo is based in
South Florida. We are available throughout Florida and perform
regularly in The Keys, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, West Palm Beach,
Marco Island, Naples, Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville. We are
also available out of state and have performed in Texas, Puerto
Rico, and The Bahamas.
How many pieces is
Vertigo?
- We usually perform as a six-piece group depending on the
size and type of event. Our group includes Male and Female
Vocalists, Sax, Keyboards, Guitar, Bass, Drums, and Background
Vocals for rich harmonies. For larger events we can include
extra Vocalists, Horns such as Trumpet and Trombone, or
Percussionists for a Latin themed event.
What type of events are you available for?
- We perform for conventions, bar/bat mitzvahs, weddings,
theme parties, fundraisers, and outdoor festivals.
How long do you play and how many breaks do you take?
- Most parties are four hours in which we generally take two
thirty minute breaks, however we would be happy to work out a
break structure that will suit your event. During our breaks we
can provide full DJ services.
Can you provide music for a cocktail hour?
- Our musicians can provide a variety of styles to suit your
taste. Perhaps some light background piano, some smooth jazz
sax, or a full jazz quartet playing your favorite jazz
standards.
How do you control the volume?
- The volume is controlled as a combination of two elements.
Song selection and sound levels. During dinner hours we can play
material that will keep the crowd entertained however allow all
guests to carry on a normal dinner conversation. We also use a
state-of-the-art sound system that will ensure a full and rich
sound playing at the softest dinner levels or filling a party of
500 people.
What about insurance?
- MusicQuest, Inc has a blanket insurance policy that covers
all bands hired through MusicQuest, Inc. for up to $1,000,000.
What are the advantages of using a live band?
- Live music creates energy and excitement that simply cannot
be duplicated with recorded music. We create a mood that gets
the crowd dancing and makes the party one to remember!
Will you learn a special request?
- We would be happy to learn one or two
songs. We only ask that if it is a song we can't find on our own
that you supply us with a
tape or CD no later than 4 weeks prior to the date of your
party.
Is it possible to view the band?
- Arrangements can be made to come to a performance and view
the band.
Do I need to meet with the band coordinator, MC?
- Most planning can be done over the phone and via e-mail and
fax.
How will you handle the flow of events, introductions, and special
dances?
- Any introductions or special dances,
whether for a wedding or awards ceremony, can be worked out
ahead of time. All members of
Vertigo are experienced
at working with event coordinators, catering staff,
photographers, and other vendors so you are ensured the event
will run smoothly.
